We will be holding tryouts/assessments for new players who want to join our teams, as well as for current players to help us place them in the right team. During these sessions, we will assess not only each player’s skills but also their attitude, effort, and ability to listen and work well with teammates. Good communication and being a positive team player are just as important to us!
We encourage players to attend at least one of the sessions, but the more you attend, the better! This will help us see your skills and attitude across different sessions.
If the listed tryout dates don’t work for you, don’t worry! You can still join one of our term training sessions to be assessed there, scroll to bottom of the page for info on this.
Mark your calendars! Our official tryout and assessment dates are set for April 5th and 6th. We encourage all players to attend at least one session to allow us to accurately assess their skill levels.
Here’s the schedule:
5th April
6th April
No problem! You’re welcome to attend one of our ongoing training sessions for an assessment. Please attend the session that corresponds with your player’s age group to allow us to assess their skills properly.
After the tryouts, please allow us some time to collate all the information and form the teams. This is a detailed process, and we appreciate your patience. Results will be announced by 13th April.
We want YOU to be part of the MAD Ravens! Whether you’re new to basketball or have years of experience, we have a team for you. Join us and show what you’ve got!

We have multiple teams within each age group, typically including one or two premier teams that require selection. For other teams, players will be assessed and placed into groups of similar ability. If you have friends you'd like to play with, feel free to let us know, and we will do our best to group you together!
Why not bring your whole squad and compete together? Represent our club with pride, wearing our uniforms and banners, while benefiting from the guidance of our experienced coaches. Contact us to discuss your team's needs!
We create teams with a maximum of 8 players. We aim to find everyone a team. However, we often have more players interested than spots available. We will do our best to accommodate everyone, but please understand that sometimes it may not be possible.
HAVE YOUR OWN SQUAD OF 8 PLAYERS?
Why not bring the whole squad over and compete with your chosen players? Represent our club with our uniforms, banners, and the guidance of our experienced coaches and program.
In the spirit of reconciliation MAD Ravens acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. We pay our respect to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
